Profound has supplied instrumentation and support on major construction projects that have taken place in the Netherlands, as well as on many international assignments. Our portfolio includes numerous high-profile clients within the construction industry. Recent structural monitoring projects include the HSL tunnel Dordrecht, the Coentunnel, the Penang Bridge Malaysia, the Victoria Station Upgrade programme for London Underground, and PDA and SLT tests for the Skikda Refinery Rehabilitation project. Monitoring Penang Bridge, Malaysia
(2006-ongoing) Client: Soil Centralab Sdn Bhd (CSL)
Due to the ever increasing traffic, the existing Penang Bridge had to be expanded from dual-2 lane to dual-3 lane. The structural widening of 4.80 m both sides of the bridge. Total bridge length of the widening is over 5.76 km.
To accurately and continuously monitor the bridge during and after construction Profound geotechnical monitoring networks have been installed and are in working order since 2006. Both IS-Liquid Levels and VIBRA monitoring units are in use.

Victoria Underground Station Upgrade, London, UK

(2009, ongoing) Client: itmsoil Ltd.
Victoria underground station is at the heart of London's transport network and is one of the busiest and most congested stations, used by around 100 million passengers each year. Over the next 5 years numerous improvements will be carried out in the Victoria Station Upgrade (VSU).
For settlement monitoring numerous Liquid Level Sensors (LLS) have been supplied for long term precision monitoring working together with itmsoil Ltd. The sensors are linked with a logger and GPRS connection to send data into Argus online monitoring software.
oslo Monitoring pore pressure and settlements
National Opera House, Oslo, Norway

(2003-2008) Client: BAT AB
The new Oslo Opera was built within the harbor basin of Oslo. In order to improve the soft clay below sea bottom, preloading was carried out in combination with vertical drains that were installed offshore from a barge. The preloading process was continuously monitored with BAT IS-piezometers and BAT IS-settlement pressure sensors.
